From October 4 to December 3, 2021, within the framework of the IAEA technical cooperation programme, two representatives of the Laboratory of Nuclear Physics of the National University of Uzbekistan (Tashkent) Mr. Sirozhiddin Makhmudov and Nr. Azizbek took part in the programmes of professional development on “Radioecology and Dosimetry” (S. Makhmudov) and “Nuclear Electronics” (A. Eshnazarov) at the Belarusian State University.
The programmes were provided by teachers and specialists of Department of Nuclear Physics of the Faculty of Physics of the BSU. Highly qualified specialists of the educational institution “International Sakharov Ecological Institute ” of BSU and the BSU Chemical Faculty also took extensive part in conducting the courses. Participants got the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and to gain practical skills in the field of physical and chemical background of radiation measurements and radioecology, basic elements of design and building up radiation measurement equipment, went in depth in radiation monitoring and control methods, scientific background of radiation safety, dosimetry and shielding calculations, contemporary approaches to the radiation protection at the national and international level according to the IAEA recommendations.
During the training, the participants got acquainted with the specifics of the production of equipment for radiation measurements at enterprises “Atomtech” and “Polymaster”.
The certificateы on professional development were awarded to the Uzbek colleagues by Dr. N. Mantsurova, Dean of the Faculty of Re-Training and Professional Development of the BSU. Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physics Dr. N. Gorbachuk and Head of the Nuclear Physics Department Dr. A. Timoshchenko participated in the certificate awarding ceremony.
