Copyright Notice

All STAR-NET scientific and technical publications are protected by the terms of the Universal Copyright Convention as adopted in 1952 (Berne) and as revised in 1972 (Paris). The copyright has since been extended by the World Intellectual Property Organization (Geneva) to include electronic and virtual intellectual property. Permission to use whole or parts of texts contained in STAR-NET publications in printed or electronic form must be obtained and may be subject to royalty agreements. Proposals for non-commercial reproductions and translations are welcomed and considered on a case-by-case basis.

Permission to Reproduce STAR-NET Copyrighted Material

In general, users may copy, download or print content for their own use. In addition, excerpts from STAR-NET publications may be included in documents, presentations, blogs, websites and teaching materials, provided that suitable acknowledgment of STAR-NET as source, link and copyright owner is given. The citation being: Title of the material, © STAR-NET, publication year (if available) and page number or URL as applicable.
Users are encouraged to link to the publications from their websites, but we ask that the relevant landing page is used, rather than linking directly to the pdf. An example of a landing page is:

Enquiries and all requests for permission to reproduce STAR-NET published material in publications for sale, commercial teaching materials or commercial websites should be addressed to the STAR-NET in written.

Please note that permission to reproduce STAR-NET protected material does not extend to any material whose copyright is identified as belonging to a third party. Authorisation to reproduce such material must be obtained from the copyright holders concerned.

Translations of STAR-NET Material

All requests for permission to translate STAR-NET publications should be made in written. The requestor should indicate whether the proposed translation would be produced on a commercial or non-commercial basis.
