STAR-NET University teachers share their experience

The VI General Assembly of the STAR-NET network approved the initiative to organize a standing educational and methodological seminar “Educational technologies in higher education” in order to exchange experience and best practices of STAR-NET member universities. The seminar organizers are the STAR-NET thematic groups: “Programs, modules and teaching materials” and “Organization of Cooperation”. The coordinating university is NRNU MEPHI.

On April 22, 2021 on the basis of the EKTU named after D. Serikbayev (Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan), the second educational and methodological seminar of the association was held in online format.
This event was attended by 20 representatives from the universities of Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan – members of the STAR-NET network, as well as representatives of schools and lyceums of Ust-Kamenogorsk.
The seminar was moderated by the Dean of the School of Traditional and Alternative Energy of EKTU Tamara Segeda, who presented a report on the topic “Aspects of university networking in the training of personnel for the nuclear industry of Kazakhstan on the basis of the D. Serikbayev EKTU”.

Discussion was continued by the report of the Vice-Rector for Research and Digitalization of the EKTU Natalia Denisova with the topic “Organization of the educational process in the context of digitalization of education in the D. Serikbayev EKTU: DALES educational platform”.

At the end of the seminar, Associate Professor of the School of Metallurgy and Enrichment of EKTU Zhanat Idrisheva presented her report on “Experience in implementing the course “Fundamentals of Radiation Safety” at the D. Serikbayev EKTU”.

All the reports aroused an active discussion among the participants. In particular, most intensively were discussed the possibilities of integrating LMS STAR-NET educational resources and university platforms in order to include the developed courses of disciplines in the curriculum and their development by students.
Earlier, on April 2, 2021, the teachers of the NRNU MEPhI shared their experience on teaching in the field of training specialists for the nuclear industry.
The participants of the seminars noted the importance of these events for establishing joint work of STAR-NET universities and using best practices to improve the quality of training of young specialists.
